Innamorata.....

...With the grande Farnese Palace in Caprarola. Also a rare opportunity to see the Farnese Villa in Rome, now home of the French Embassy and open to visitors for a limited time, has enhanced my love of the Farnese collection.

  1. The very best tour guide in Rome!

My wife and I recently came home from a Mediterranean cruise which finished in Rome, Italy (Civitavecchia). Before our trip, based on other outstanding reviews, we booked a full Vatican tour with Theresa. Since Rome is a little ways away from the port of Civitavecchia, Theresa arranged for a private driver to pick us up from the port. It worked seamlessly. We got off the ship, the driver was there waiting for us, he helped us with our bags to his waiting car, and off we went to Rome! When we arrived to the Vatican, there was Theresa waiting for us right by the entrance with the biggest most welcoming smile. We got out of the car and were greeted by the warmest most wonderful tour guide we have ever had (and we’ve had a lot of tour guides in a lot of different places…). The car left and brought all of our luggage to the hotel (Westin Excelsior) where we would be staying while in Rome. All of this went on without a glitch, apparently, this is something that Theresa arranges all the time.

So, now it was time to begin the tour. My wife and I have spent quite a bit of time in Italy previous to this tour so, we had pretty high expectations. This tour would be sure not to disappoint. Theresa is very interesting. She’s actually from Buffalo, NY, so, conversing with her was MUCH better and natural than other guides. But, her knowledge of Italy is unrivaled. She told us all about her story of how she’s lived in Italy for 10 years and fell in love with it (I can easily see how). In addition to her huge knowledge of everything Italian, Theresa has her master’s degree in art history so, it was absolutely fascinating to learn the back story and details of all of the works of art. Theresa had us rolling in laughter for a good part of the time. We have NEVER been on a tour as fun before this. Looking around at the other tours, we felt so fortunate to have had Theresa. We were laughing, joking, looking at all the intricate details of things I would have never have known about, bouncing all over the Vatican and having so much fun in the process. We have had so many guides before where it is clear that there is so much they just don’t know. Theresa was able to answer all of our questions while making everything so interesting. It was fun to arrive back home to share with all our friends and family all that we learned from Theresa’s tour. While looking at the various works of art and parts of the Vatican, we were able to really learn the stories behind the stories. There is just so much to learn there where if you make the trip all the way to Italy and don’t get the right guide, then you are really doing yourself a disservice. Booking Theresa was really the best move we made while on our trip to get the most out of our vacation.

In addition to the amazing Vatican tour, Theresa really is an expert on all things Italian. While I do enjoy the arts, I absolutely LOVE the Italian culture. I love the food, the sites, the walks, the buildings, and just being in Italy. Theresa was more than happy to give the most amazingly awesome “insiders” recommendations. When I mean “insiders”, I really mean it. I’ll never remember how to get to some of those places and I don’t think half of them even had names. My only regret is that we didn’t book Theresa for all the other tours she does as we just didn’t have time. Since my wife and I love going to Italy, we’re planning another trip back to Rome to check out all the other sites with Theresa. As Theresa is an extraordinarily popular and in-demand guide, make sure to book her early as she books up quick as we have discovered. She is the very best of the best!

Without hesitation, we would recommend Theresa for anyone looking for the most enjoyable, interesting, fun, and memorable visit to Rome. Grazie Mille Theresa!!!
